This past weekend I had the privilege of attending a business trip and girls retreat in Ashville, NC. The trip was for those who earned “Diamond” rank in their partnership with the makers of P90X and INSANITY (Beachbody company). For me, this partnership is simply another avenue by which I am able to fulfill my life purpose, mission, and vision. Truthfully, trips like this are one of the reasons that I was initially intrigued about linking arms with Beachbody. Last year at this time, as a self-employed personal trainer, I often had the feeling of being on an island in the fitness industry. Most women in the industry view other trainers as competition versus team members. I saw my mentor post about a trip she had earned last summer, and a few weeks later I initially contacted her for information.
Our trip was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We stayed at the Hilton at Biltmore park. It was truly a retreat location – quite, quaint, perfect weather. I arrived on Thursday morning and the retreat didn’t start until Thursday evening. This gave me a chance to unwind, eat a peaceful patio meal, get in a good workout, and take a nap. If you remember from last week, I was still recovering from Shingles (in fact, I almost backed out of the trip at the last minute due to Shingles – so glad I didn’t). Thursday evening we met for dinner, I met with my upline (Michelle Myers and Mindy Lawhorne) to chat about my growing business and how to effectively lead my Team INSPIRE.
On Friday and Saturday morning, Mindy Lawhorne led us in a workout. Friday was PiYo and Saturday was Turbo. I had never done either of these programs, and let’s just say I got some great video footage for the blooper reel of my life. Mindy is well known in the fitness industry and appears in the PiYo and Turbo videos, so it was very fun to be led by her for the workouts.
We had some amazing professional development sessions during the retreat. We learned from a local pastor and leadership speaker about what it means to mentor, selling more than a product, how good intentions doesn’t mean results, investing in people, leading through people not over people, and the importance of creating culture. I loved having a guest speaker from outside of the Beachbody world. He brought a fresh perspective and I felt reenergized in my mission to bring a unique approach and strategies to the Beachbody leg of my fitness business.
On Friday we had a few hours of free time in the afternoon. Some ladies went shopping, some got pedicures, and the rest of us sat in the hotel lobby and shared our business challenges one by one. The group would then offer some ideas and helpful tips for how to overcome those challenges. For me, this was one of the most beneficial times.
Friday evening we enjoyed dinner out and then met for a couple more professional development sessions. Michelle Myers taught us how to think like an entrepreneur versus an employee. Mindy Lawhorne spoke about how to prepare yourself for the ups-and-downs that inevitably accompany any business start-up and how to maintain positive long-term thinking.
My favorite and most valuable aspect of the trip was networking with the other professionals. I met some ladies who I will be friends with for years to come. We went hiking on Saturday to a beautiful waterfall and were able to enjoy each other’s company. We chatted holistic branding and marketing. We ended the retreat with a dinner at Michelle’s beautiful house in the woods. It was fun to relax. Mindy is friend with Dr. Sara Solomon who I’ve referenced in my blog posts about intermittent fasting, and she asked Dr. Sara to FaceTime us in the evening. I was able to chat with her for a couple minutes via video, and that was a huge highlight for me.
Overall, I absolutely loved the retreat. I missed the kiddos and the hubs, but it was wonderful to have a break for a few days. Cole came down with his first ear infection the day I left, so I felt bad for leaving, but he was in capable hands with Brandon. He even somehow convinced Brandon to let him sleep on my side of the bed while I was away (too funny). Before I left for the retreat, I was apprehensive that we would only be hearing about the details of building our Beachbody organizations. However, this was not the case at all. We focused on holistic branding, marketing, and leadership which is my mission for my daily Team INSPIRE trainings as well.
Are you a fitness professional or enthusiast who is genuinely passionate about helping others? Have you considered a partnership with the makers of P90X and INSANITY. Does a retreat like this one sound appareling to you?
My plan is to organize a retreat in the fall or winter to Florida for Team INSPIRE. The ladies on Team INSPIRE are a super tight nit community, but my desire is to do more face time with the professionals on our team. We will do some trainings regarding professional development, branding, marketing, and leadership, but we will also have some FUN at the beach, shopping, and out to eat.
I was hesitant to partner with Beachbody and took my decision very seriously. I decided to commit to a full year of consistent work and the re-assess my partnership at the end of the year. 9 months later, I earn over $1,000 per week and I couldn’t be more thankful to have a phenomenal team of professionals to lead. The income has been a huge blessing to my family and while the Beachbody leg of my fitness business is still a small part of the overall picture, the partnership has allowed me to scale back my hours with a few others items that were taking precious time away from my family life.
If you are interested in a partnership with Team INSPIRE and the makers of P90X and Insanity I can promise you a few things.
- You will make some phenomenal long-lasting relationships via our team if you are intentional about connecting with the ladies.
- You will have the tools needed to be successful.
- It will be a lot of hard-but-fulfilling work.
- You will gain momentum if you implement consistent, tried-and-true strategies for a full year.
- The partnership with Team INSPIRE will change your life for the better if you dive in with both feet and ramp up your business.
If you’ve been a coach in the past or had a coach contact you about joining their organization, I can tell you that my team takes a much different and unique approach. We do not believe in spammy friend and family solicitation. Therefore, I have never individually messaged someone “inviting” them to join my business. We are also passionate about ramping up holistic wellness businesses with multiple streams of income including our own branded online boot camps, eBooks, workout plans, and more. If you are open to learning effective and valuable marketing strategies that will add value to the lives of your friends, family, and followers, we would be thrilled to discuss a potential partnership between you and Team INSPIRE.
