We returned home from vacation on Tuesday night after quite the travel adventure from Tampa to Columbus. Honesty, I like to spend as much time as possible in FL, so I’m never in a huge rush to get to the airport early … and often the hubs isn’t thrilled about the adrenaline rush I get from “cutting it close.” Typically, we zip to the airport, head to the front of the security line, and board the plane immediately upon arriving to the gate.
However, this time, things didn’t work out quite so well. We left the condo expecting it to take us the typical 30 minutes to get to the airport, leaving about 50-60 minutes until take-off to get through the rental car drop-off, check-in, and security. “The plan” started to go downhill about 10 minutes into the drive when we hit a detour. The detour resulted in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Then Cole got super hungry and started some screaming in the backseat. I crawled into the back seat and fed him some formula and cereal. He proceeded to projectile vomit his breakfast all over me, his seat, and the rental car. Awesome. We then got stuck in MORE traffic on the bridge to Tampa. The 30 minute drive took us an hour and a half. Needless to say — by the time we waited 20 minutes in line to check-in, the flight had taken off. Thankfully, Southwest put us on stand-by for the next flight a mere 3 hours later. We got onto the flight without an issue and were safe at home just several hours later than originally planned. Phew! The kids were perfect angels traveling.
After a long day of travel, I was thrilled to get home. And I was even more excited when I remembered that I had a huge shipment of Stonyfield yogurt to taste-test and review as part of a FitFluential campaign partnership.
This winter, I have become quite the yogurt consumer. After being on 5 rounds of antibiotics for Strep, I found it very necessary to add yogurt to my list of favorite snacks to be sure I had a good amount of probiotics. I have been primarily eating Chobani, Fage, and now, Stonyfield Greek! The Stonyfield team has recently perfected it’s yogurt to ensure a fabulous creamy texture. In addition, they launched some great new flavors including Black Cherry and Cafe Latte. If you follow me on IG (@fitparenting) you know I LOVE coffee, so I was thrilled to try the Cafe Latte. I really like the new flavors, but I have to say — my favorite is the Superfruits flavor. Yum!
I had some Chobani still in the fridge when I received the Stonyfield Greek yogurts, so I did a quick nutrition label comparison. They yogurts are very similar, but Stonyfield is very intentional about their ingredients. Stonyfield yogurt is made without pesticides, GMOs, artificial hormones, and antibiotics.
I can’t mention my experience tast-testing Stonyfield yogurt without mentioning how much Emma loved the flavors. She has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the “eating” parting of the campaign and is insistent that sharing her yogurt with Baby Cole is not an option.
Stonyfield is also running a fun social media opportunity that you should check out! Stonyfield is featuring some fun recipes and products that “you gotta try” with hashtag #StonyfieldGreek. However, if you use their hashtag with your own recipe ideas and/or posts about your Stonyfield snacks, you can win some FREE yogurt. I know that a few of my IG friends already went out and purchased their own Stonyfield Green yogurt to try, and you can too — it’s in the dairy aisle at most grocery stores. Visit their site for some great recipe ideas, and a listing of products and flavors. Be sure to check out the Stonyfield Facebook and Twitter pages as well.
I want to thank both FitFluential and Stonyfield for this delicious review opportunity.
My daughter loves yogurt too. She loves to put it in her salad.
