It was so fun breaking ground on our new house. I’m standing on my future fitness studio which will be the entire finished basement.
This past week felt like it was an entire month long. I barely had time to sit down, let alone write a blog post. But the week was really fun, and now, I can finally breathe!
Last Thursday we had our “ground breaking meeting” for our new house in Bellbrook, OH. It was so fun to walk the property and see where different parts of our house would be on the land. We will have .65 acres, so it feels really big compared to our previous lot. I am SO excited for our house to be finished and my entire basement to be an exercise studio! We are even putting in a full finished bathroom so my clients can take showers if necessary.
On Friday, we closed on our house in Beavercreek, OH. I am still in shock that we sold the house after one day on the market. What a blessing! I sold the house for only $100 less than the appraisal value and was very fortunate to only have to do one “showing.” We are very excited for our buyers and can’t wait to see how they decorate and enjoy our former residence.
Immediately after closing, we started packing our moving van. I got to be the moving van driver for two trips to our apartment in Xenia, Ohio. Thankfully, we had a few amazing helpers from our church group, and the move only took 4 hours total. We have a storage unit at the apartment complex, and it is filled from floor to ceiling.
On Saturday and Sunday, we unpacked boxes, cleaned our former house, and started organizing our “new” apartment. We had a lot of fun, but were certainly exhausted by the end of the weekend!
Yesterday was Brandon’s 26th birthday. I distinctly remember telling him last year that I would try to make it a more relaxing year for us versus the very fast-paced previous years of our marriage. So, we both changed jobs (he moved to a new job at the Air Force base, I became 100% self-employed), we got pregnant with and delivered Baby Cole, Brandon started a leadership program with the DOD, we sold our house, and are now building a new one. HA — but for us, that is more relaxed than the previous years of marriage 🙂 I’m excited to see what this new year will bring!
It was very difficult to eat healthy and get in good workouts this past weekend. However, I did the best I could. We ordered Chipotle one evening, and were sure to have apples, Luna bars, and other healthy snacks readily accessible. I trained a few clients and worked out on Saturday, and then went on a run Sunday. Unfortunately, I got tripped up in some plastic trash around our apartment complex and fell! That was the first time I have ever fallen while running. My hip and elbow are still pretty sore, but I survived it 🙂 I will be much more cautious from now on!
Hope you’re having a great week too and enjoying some excitement like me.
