Did you go on a “Babymoon” before your little one arrived? Brandon, Emma, and I have enjoyed several beach vacations together since she was born, but our last two vacations we have called, “Babymoons.” We are at the condo in FL again enjoying our last trip together before we officially become a family of four. It’s great to spend one-on-one time with Emma, and I am trying to appreciate every single minute of sleep I get before I have an infant to take care of in June.
We are on the beach for 7 full days and have been enjoying long workouts, time at the pool, and a few dates while Nana and Papa (my parents) watch Miss Emma. It’s a much-needed break from the craziness of life, but I have still been very productive this week.

Erin, from Lasting Snapshots Photography (early in her second trimester), completed the Fit Pregnancy Total Body workout. Great job, Erin!
I ended pre-order sales of my Fit Pregnancy DVD this Wednesday. And I am thrilled to report that I am almost sold out of my first shipment of DVDs! Crazy! I was absolutely floored and humbled by the number of orders. My lovely assistant, Tasha, started mailing the DVDs on Wednesday, and a few of my ladies have already been able to try out the workout! The feedback has been very positive. Ranging anywhere from, “So tough, but fun…” to “I was soaked in sweat and LOVE the workout.” Tasha enclosed my business card in all of the packages, and the ladies who purchased the DVD now have a direct line to ask me any fitness or nutrition related questions. I have also offered to send an even more modified ab workout to a few ladies who are in their late second or third trimesters. Stay tuned for a short DVD video “commercial” clip and giveaway on my site soon!
Here is a breakdown of my workouts so far on vacation:
- Day 1: Walk/jog at park
- Day 2: 8.5 mile run
- Day 3: 2.5 mile walk/run
- Day 4: 2.5 mile run and 1.5 mile walk
- Day 5: 2.5 mile run and pool laps
- Day 6: Abs and 30 minutes of laps and treading water in pool
I completed the 8.5 mile run on the second day of our trip to train for the half marathon that I have coming up in 3 weeks. I was honestly not sure how it would go, but I felt great! I kept a very slow pace, but ran the entire 8.5 miles and didn’t have to take any potty breaks. Unfortunately, my ankle started hurting the next day during my walk/run, and today I decided to rest it completely and only do a pool workout. Hopefully it will be back to normal very soon!
This week, more than any other so far, I am feeling large. Most ladies who see my photos remark about how “tiny” I look, but trust me … I feel big. I never thought a uterus could extend from a bladder all the way up to the ribs! In looking at photos from my pregnancy with Emma, my bump is almost identical — maybe even slightly smaller.
I was told by most women that I would show earlier in my second pregnancy and/or pop out more/sooner. However, that has not been my experience. I think part of that is due to the fact that I worked my abs very intensely before I got pregnant with Baby Boy, and I have continued a more rigorous core routine throughout this pregnancy. But again — regardless of how I “look,” I feel “big.” Can you relate? I am running out of clothes to wear and I have been on a few unsuccessful shopping trips. Where did you get cute summer clothes during pregnancy?
We have 1.5 more days left of vacation! I plan to spend time soaking up some sun, having fun with Emma, and Brandon and I are going to enjoy a date at our favorite beach restaurant tonight. When I return to Ohio, I have to endure 12 more insane business days at work, and then I am officially 100% self-employed! I’m so excited and nervous at the same time, but I can’t wait to spend more time with Emma and focus more on my fitness business.
Enjoy the rest of your Baby Moon!
